North American Tour Celebrates Release of AppetitesBourdain’s First Cookbook in 10 Years

IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, August 25, 2016 ) –– Bringing his international flavor to Philadelphia, renowned and best-selling author, television host, and multiple Emmy® Award-winner, Anthony Bourdain, presents his tour, The Hunger, in celebration of the release of Appetites, his first cookbook in 10 years. The Hunger serves audiences an all-new, live show featuring an unyielding, brutally honest monologue reflecting on diverse culture, street cuisine, and Bourdain’s travels to lesser-known locations around the world, followed by an open Q&A session. This event, taking place at the Academy of Music on Wednesday October 26 at 7:30 p.m., is presented in association with iNNOVATiON ARTS & ENTERTAiNMENT.

“You never know what to expect when Anthony Bourdain takes the stage to discuss food, travel, and everything in between,” said Ed Cambron, Executive Vice President of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “One thing I can guarantee, the performance will give the audience a hefty dose of what fans of Anthony have come to know and love – his impressive storytelling, serious food talk, and of course, keeping with the Bourdain spirit, the more than occasional joke.”

Anthony Bourdain began his career when he first established himself as executive chef at Brassier Les Halles. Following the release of his 1997 article, “Don’t Read Before Eating This,” in The New Yorker to rave reviews, Bourdain moved from one high profile culinary project to the next, including TV shows: A Cook’s Tour and Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, and books such as Kitchen Confidential, Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly,  A Cook’s Tour: Global Adventures in Extreme Cuisines, The Nasty Bits and more. In addition to his award-winning television and writing career, he has appeared as a guest judge on Top Chef, and a main judge on Top Chef All-Stars, among other ventures in the entertainment industry.
