Kimmel Center Announces Process for Obtaining First Access Passes for

Grand Spectacle at Penn’s Landing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, March 7, 2016)  The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts announced today the details for obtaining free First Access Passes to the U.S. Premiere of Article 13 – the Grand Opening performance of the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA). Beginning March 18, audience members can visit kimmelcenter.org/pifa to reserve their First Access Pass(es) to experience this grand spectacle of fire, sand, water, and multimedia on the Delaware River Waterfront. Tickets will be limited to four (4) per person. Performances will take place in the Market Street Lot at Penn’s Landing April 8 through 10, all beginning at 9:00 p.m.

Thousands of visitors are expected to attend and ticket reservations are highly encouraged. First Access Passes provide patrons with first access to enter the performance. Entrance is "first-come, first-served" for the performance and passes do not guarantee entrance. Patrons who do not have an Access Pass can join the stand-by line beginning at 8 p.m. The First Access Passes expire at 9:00 p.m. Patrons in the stand-by line will be let into the performance space at 9:15 p.m., space permitting.

Article 13 is an interactive, theatrical performance that explores the timely topic of immigration through art, as presented by Mexican theater company Teatro Linea de Sombra and French artist collective Compagnie Carabosse. The provocative performance takes up the space equivalent to two football fields and encompasses many art forms including dialogue, fire sculpture, multimedia, and music.
