BRIT FLOYD BRINGS THE PINK FLOYD IMMERSION WORLD TOUR TO THE ACADEMY OF MUSIC, APRIL 15, 2017

“The perfect rock show.” – Los Angeles Times

“A musical masterpiece.” – Ticketmaster

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, February 22, 2017) –– Brit Floyd brings the “World’s Greatest Pink Floyd Tribute Show” to the Academy of Music on April 15, 2017 at 8:00 p.m., as part of the Immersion World Tour 2017. With a spectacular new million dollar light show and state-of-the-art video design, this highly-anticipated rock event will feature fan favorites from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, The Division Bell, and a special tribute to the Animals album, in its 40th anniversary year.

“Paying tribute to one of the most influential rock bands of all time is no easy feat, but Brit Floyd seems to have found a way to do just that with exceptional flair,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “This brand new show is truly the closest fans can get to seeing a live Pink Floyd show, combining incredible visuals with the songs we know and love.”

Formed in 2011 in Liverpool, England, Brit Floyd was the brainchild of Damian Darlington, musical director, guitarist, and singer with The Australian Pink Floyd Show. The group’s live shows emulate and recreate the sound and musical components of Pink Floyd’s live shows, paying close attention to all the various aspects of each show including music, visuals, and lighting to perfectly recreate the emotional journey of a Pink Floyd show.

Other upcoming performances on the Kimmel Center Campus include Spend the Night with Billy Crystal (March 20–21, 2017, Verizon Hall), Hedwig & The Angry Inch (April 18–23, 2017, Forrest Theatre), Marc Maron: The Too Real Tour (May 12, 2017, Merriam Theater), and Tedeschi Trucks Band (June 8–10, 2017, Merriam Theater).
