Posted by:  Kimmel Center on February 19, 2017

To celebrate Alan Cumming bringing his Sappy Songs cabaret show to the Kimmel Center tonight, we reviewed some of the reasons why we love him so much.

Alan Cumming

To us, he’ll always be the Emcee from Broadway’s Cabaret, a role he played not once or twice, but three times.

Born and raised in Scotland, he’s appeared in numerous movies including BurlesqueIt’s ComplicatedSpy Kids, and Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion.

Best of all, he got Helen Mirren to wear crocs!

And his new show, a storytelling cabaret entitled Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs, is sure to give us all the feels.

“The songs come from all over the place, but they’re all about me, or things that have happened to me. It’s a true cabaret, I guess – funny, but also intense.” – Alan Cumming

Bring on the ballads and banter!
