The Kimmel Cultural Campus is proud to announce that we have been officially certified by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council as a GBAC STAR Facility. This accreditation is the only one of its kind in the cleaning industry, helping organizations create protocols, as well as offering training and assessing whether a facility is ready for a biorisk situation. It is considered the gold standard for cleaning, disinfection, and infection prevention programs for buildings and facilities.
In order to achieve this GBAC accreditation, the Kimmel Cultural Campus demonstrated compliance with the program’s 20 core elements (from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.)
A division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, Global Biorisk Advisory Council™ (GBAC) helps organizations and businesses prepare for, respond to, and recover from biological threats, biohazard situations, and real-time crises.
Health and safety of audiences, artists, and employees remains our top priority. In the months before reopening, we updated our HVAC systems with CDC-recommended MERV-13 air filters and participated in a nationwide study on guest expectations to prepare our Cultural Campus. We are now taking every precaution as audiences return to our venues, including implementing a mask & proof of vaccination requirement with increased sanitation procedures.
