Enjoy the Holiday Season on the Kimmel Cultural Campus

Holiday cheer is here on the Kimmel Cultural Campus! Look no further than Broad Street this season for great performances and events encompassing the joy of the season. See below for our holiday happenings to keep your spirit happy and bright all winter long.

The Philadelphia Orchestra presents a variety of exciting holiday events from their beloved annual concerts like the Children’s Holiday Spectacular (December 10), The Glorious Sound of Christmas (December 21 – 23), and Messiah (December 15 – 16).

New this year – experience a film favorite of the holiday year with the score of The Muppet’s Christmas Carol played live by your Philadelphia Orchestra. And then kick off the new year with the GRAMMY-Award winning Orchestra at the New Year’s Eve Celebration (December 31 at 7PM) and Lunar New Year (January 6).

Bring humor, sparkles, and joy to your holiday season with a rare opportunity to witness Kiki (Justin Vivian Bond) and Herb (Kenny Mellman) in DO YOU HEAR WHAT WE HEAR? on December 5. This legendary and relentlessly fabulous duo will be bringing classics from their out-of-print 2000’s album filled with boozy banter, pop-culture shmaltz, and claws-out cultural critique.

Calling all tuba and euphoniums! Tuba Christmas makes its return to the Plaza!  Join us for this annual free event where over a hundred musicians play beloved holiday tunes on the beloved brass instrument. This is a favorite for so many – and you can catch it twice in one day (12pm and 6pm) on December 11.

Bringing a vintage sound to the season,  Scott Bradley’s Postmodern Jukebox: A Very Postmodern Christmas comes to our stage on December 10. This time-twisting group reworks popular modern music into vintage genres, so if you want to enjoy some holiday tunes in a new way - this is the performance for you.

A Soulful Christmas returns for their 9th annual performance, this year with special guest and honoree, Kurt Carr. This joyful event celebrates gospel music bringing together regional choirs for a night of soul-stirring gospel music, dancing, and heartfelt messages, culminating in the spectacular “Finale of Lights”!

One of the city’s favorite holiday traditions, Philadelphia Ballet once again brings George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker to the Academy of Music. Experience the treasured classic story brought to life in an unforgettable production you will not want to miss.

Smash hit phenomenon Blue Man Group returns to the Kimmel Cultural Campus again this holiday season with their colorful show of creativity, drumming, and hilarious antics. This is a show that unites people of all ages; you might even find yourself part of the show as the Blue Man Group interacts with their curious audience! Want a crazier experience? Consider sitting in the splash zone near the front!

The Philly POPS bring their beloved Christmas: Spectacular Sounds of the Season back to Verizon Hall, this year featuring Hamilton and In The Heights star Mandy Gonzalez and Philadelphia native and small-screen heartthrob, Jordan Donica.

Taller Puertorriqueño, our 2022-23 partner, is once again hosting an annual toy drive to benefit their Three King’s Day Celebration, where all donations will be distributed to local children, ages infant through 18, alongside live music and a parade, both happening at Taller. Labelled donation boxes will be in Kimmel Cultural Campus venues beginning November 1 through January 2.

There’s a whole lot happening on the Kimmel Cultural Campus this holiday season, but that means there’s sure to be something for everyone. Any one of these great events would be a fantastic choice to add some extra holiday cheer to your life, so come see a performance, attend an event, and have some fun.
