Posted by:  The Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Cultural Campus with Taller Puertorriqueño on September 26, 2022

Our friends and partners at Taller Puertorriqueño are gathering monetary donations for those impacted by the devasting destruction caused by Hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico. All donations will go directly to multiple community-based organizations providing needed services on the ground in Puerto Rico, including IDEBAJO, Taller Salud, Comedores Sociales, and more. Donations will support the urgent distribution of food, water, shelter, and medical services as well as direct services for communities and first responders. Donate here today.

Hurricane Fiona hit just days before the five-year anniversary of Hurricane Maria which inflicted catastrophic damage across the island of Puerto Rico. Hitting the already vulnerable island, Hurricane Fiona halted the ongoing struggle to rebuild. With 85 mph winds, 30 inches of rain, landslides, widespread power outages, and more – the need in Puerto Rico is greater than ever before. Monetary donations can help make an immediate impact on the island and its recovery efforts.

As a leader in the Latin community of Philadelphia, Taller Puertorriqueño is a non-profit that seeks to preserve, develop, and promote Puerto Rican arts and culture. The partnership allows us to join forces with an organization that shares our values and is similarly dedicated to shape young minds through the arts. We are thrilled to collaborate with such an essential organization whose programming strives to help young people embrace their cultural heritage. The Kimmel Cultural Campus is proud to partner again with Taller Puertorriqueño for the second year in a row to further grant better access to the arts and meaningful collaboration to benefit our city’s future.
