The Kimmel Cultural Campus Loves Philly!

Posted by:  Kimmel Cultural Campus on October 01, 2021

The I “Heart” Philly statue once located in LOVE Park has found a new temporary home on the Kimmel Cultural Campus! The return of the art installation is a partnership with the City of Philadelphia Office of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy (OACCE), the Avenue of the Arts, Inc., and the Kimmel Cultural Campus to welcome and celebrate the return of in-person performing arts to the Philadelphia region.

Not just a picture-perfect backdrop, the I “Heart” Philly statue is also interactive! Visitors are encouraged to place stickers representing their culture and heritage on the heart. The statue will be located outside the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts at 300 S. Broad Street until October 31, 2021.

The Kimmel Cultural Campus is honored to have this sculpture on display during October, which is celebrated as Global Diversity Awareness Month. The sculpture was originally commissioned as a joint effort by the Office of Immigrant Affairs (OIA) in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, and FWD.us in June 2019. The commission was part of the FWD.us I Am An Immigrant campaign that empowers immigrants and their allies to share stories and drive action that demonstrate immigration is good for our communities, economy, and country.

See below for photos of its installation and stop by and snap a selfie before it’s gone!
