Introducing: Marketing Intern, Amber! Here at the Kimmel Center we strive to impart hands-on arts management experience to participants in The Willard G. What is your background in?

I am currently a second semester Senior and soon to be graduate of Temple University with a Major in Tourism & Hospitality Management and a Minor in Spanish.

Why did you want to intern at the Kimmel Center?

Within my major, I have a concentration in Event Leadership which has led me to a specific interest in Special Event and Program Marketing. Being that I am a performer myself, I felt that interning at the Kimmel Center was a perfect way to correlate my studies with my love for music, dance, concerts, and the Arts in general. I was so excited when I found out that the Kimmel Center offered internships to college students and immediately sent in my resume for the Fall!

What has been the most valuable learning you have gained so far?

This is my first time working 9-5 in this type an office environment. Not only have I learned so much about Marketing from my supervisor, Sophia, but have also learned the importance of having several departments work closely together on a single project. Observing this type of work ethic, while having the opportunity to be involved, is giving me the knowledge I need to transition to my future career.

What has been your favorite event moment so far?

I have had a lot of favorite moments here, seeing that everyone in the office is so amiable and easy to get along with, but I would have to say my most favorite moment so far was to see everyone dressed in their Halloween costumes at work.

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself?

  • I just recently completed four years as a member of Temple University’s Dance Team and was featured as Sports Illustrated’s Cheerleader of the Week in May 2015.
  • I have a 5 month old puppy named Brin who I rescued when he was 3 weeks old.
  • I played the Harp for 6+ Years.
