The song craze taking the City of Philadelphia by storm has made its way to Verizon Hall!
The Philadelphia Orchestra recently recorded a short instrumental snippet of the hit “Dancing On My Own” onstage in Verizon Hall in celebration of the Philadelphia Phillies. The remix by Calum Scott and DJ Tiësto has become the go-to victory song for our hometown team during their winning streak in the playoffs, and now as they move into the 2022 World Series against the Houston Astros.
Led by Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Orchestra worked with composer and arranger Jim Gray to create an orchestral arrangement of the song’s iconic chorus. The special 35 second clip was recorded on Thursday and set to a sing-along style music video. Yannick and the Orchestra joyously played dressed in Phillies gear

The song (originally a hit in 2010 by Swedish singer-songwriter Robyn) has become the defacto anthem for the Philadelphia Phillies. “Dancing On My Own” can be heard constantly in Philly throughout bars, homes, and even everyday in Rittenhouse Square at 12:30PM and 5:30PM. The Philadelphia Orchestra’s is just one of the many tributes to the Phillies that have been made in recent weeks using the song.
