Volvér returns with brand new Chefs In Residency Program, supporting emerging chefs

Posted by:  Kimmel Cultural Campus on October 06, 2021

Closed for over a year, the much-anticipated reopening of Volvér on the Kimmel Cultural Campus aligns with the restaurant focusing its spotlight on our region’s rising culinary stars through a brand new Chefs In Residency Program. The year-long program will invite guest chefs to Volvér and allow them to showcase their signature dishes as part of the menu for a six-to-eight-week period.

Each Chef In Residency will introduce new flavors and culinary styles right alongside the beloved menu of signature French-inspired dishes by Chef Garces.  The inaugural class of the Chefs In Residency Program participants include:

  • Chef Kiki Arantia (she/her) -- October 6 - November 28
  • Chef Phila Lorn (he/him) -- December 1 – January 17
  • Chef Jezabel Careaga (she/her) -- January 26 – March 13
  • Chef Jennifer Zavala (she/her) -- March 16 – May 1
  • Chef Alex Yoon (he/him) -- May 4 – May 31
  • Chef Dane DeMarco (they/them) -- June 1 – July 1

With a focus on chefs affected by the pandemic, the Chefs In Residency Program will also give back to the Philadelphia culinary community. Through a special donation program in partnership with the Garces Foundation, each Chef in Residency will have the opportunity to raise money to support their work with their current restaurant, or to use  to start their next culinary journey.

Garces fans, foodies, arts patrons, neighbors, and visitors will once again come together to celebrate the art of fine dining in the dual-concept space that features a giant oval bar and lush lounge on one side, as well as a performance kitchen on the where chefs bring cuisine to the center stage. Volvér, Spanish for 'to return', will celebrate not only the return of the beloved restaurant after the pandemic shut-down, but will also celebrate the much-anticipated raising of the curtains across the stages of the Kimmel Cultural Campus.

Volvér is now taking reservations! Hours for the 2021 - 22 season are Wednesday -- Sunday, from 4--9PM, with a special pre-theatre menu served from 4 — 6:30PM and happy hour from 7:30--9PM.
