Gobbling Up Turkeys at the Annual John DeBella WMGK Turkey Drop

Posted by:  Kimmel Cultural Campus on November 01, 2022

It’s turkey time! We are teaming up with our friends at WMGK and ACME to again be a donation location for the annual Turkey Drop on Tuesday, November 22 from 6 – 9 AM, hosted by one of our favorite morning DJ, John DeBella.

This annual event collects frozen turkeys and monetary donations benefiting Cityteam Philadelphia, an organization that provides holiday meals to families throughout the Philadelphia region. Along with the collection location at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts at 300 South Broad Street, donations can be made at various ACME stores across the region. See additional locations here.

The Turkey Drop is an event we always look forward to, as we pause to give back to the community and people in need. The entire Kimmel Cultural Campus team loves to participate – bringing in turkeys and donations to contribute and showing up bright and early year after year. Events like this are so important to us, not just during the holiday season, but all year long; this past year, we’ve opened our doors for Red Cross blood drives, a polling place for our neighborhood, a peaceful resting place for protestors and police officers, and more.

Stop by with your donation and stick around to enjoy FREE hot chocolate and coffee provided by our partners at Garces Events. There may even be a surprise guest or two, and trust us – you don’t want to miss this hot chocolate! 😊

See below for photos from previous years!
