“I only wish I could instill in every friend of music… the depth of sympathy and profound appreciation of Mozart’s inimitable art that I myself feel and enjoy.” The author of those words, the composer Franz Joseph Haydn, would be gratified if he could see how high Mozart’s star has ascended in the two centuries and more since he wrote them. Today, millions share his enthusiasm for the work of his great contemporary. Returning to the Perelman Theater, the Curtis Chamber Orchestra embarks on a memorable two-part journey through all five Mozart Violin concertos, with soloists drawn from the orchestra, as well as the exquisite Sinfonia Concertante with Shmuel Ashkenasi and Roberto Díaz.
