AFTER LOUIE is a stark depiction of life after tragedy. Alan Cumming plays Sam, a queer, fifty-something, chain-smoking artist residing on the Upper West Side who perpetually pines the years before the loss of his lover William (Patrick Breen) to AIDS related complications and has issues navigating through today's gay culture. A drunken one-night-stand with the baby-faced Braeden (Zackary Booth) leads to both dynamic chemistry between the two and loads of witty banter. But there’s more to their chance encounter. After all, Braeden's a looker but who is that other man in his apartment? How do you remain monogamous when you're young, gay and in New York? Spirited, provocative, humorous at times, Cumming and Booth remarkably link the two generations—the AIDS warrior of the 1980's and the jaded millennial. Director Vincent Gagliostro’s AFTER LOUIE, “may well be the most important gay movie you’ll see in your lifetime,” proclaimed the Los Angeles Blade. On stage will be Alan Cumming to receive qFLIX Philadelphia’s 2018 Artistic Achievement Award in Acting, who will be accompanied by Gagliostro. Red carpet festivities begins at 7:00 PM. 1h 40min, Drama, Romance, USA
