Overview

Heat up the Kimmel Center each month at La NOCHE!  Experience the hottest live bands as you turn up the steam on the dance floor, led by host/dance leader Kevin Ngo. Enjoy the sexy rhythms of The Caribbean and Latin America as live bands serve up a caliente mix of music that really makes you want to move.

We kick off the party with The La NOCHE Band, led by master percussionist Arturo Stable.  We then welcome a different guest group to light up the dance floor.

¡Baila a la música, bebe las cervezas!

About Radio Jarocho

Radio Jarocho plays the rowdy, upbeat, and at times melancholic music of the countryside of Veracruz, Mexico, and has been mixing it with the sounds of New York’s urban life for over ten years. They deliver performances that are passionate, energetic, and true to the roots of the genre. Radio Jarocho has played concerts at festivals and venues in the east coast, including Kennedy Center, Brooklyn Bowl, Joe's Pub, La Casita at Lincoln Center, Le Poisson Rouge, Celebrate Mexico Now! and Celebrate Brooklyn.

The band collaborates with master son jarocho musicians on a consistent basis, celebrating the union between Mexico and the United States through original songs and new arrangements of old jarocho tunes and offering a modern take on a traditional genre by fusing it with sounds that have become part of New York City's musical fabric.

In May 2018, Radio Jarocho released the album "Rios de Norte y Sur" in conjunction with master jarana player and singer Zenen Zeferino. In 2019, the band will be opening their doors to other master musicians from Veracruz, continuing the tradition of working collaboratively on both sides of the border.
