6:00pm: Carnatic Vocal by TM Krishna, RK Shriram Kumar, K Arun Prakash and N Guru Prasad
TM Krishna is one of the pre-eminent vocalists in the rigorous Carnatic tradition of India's classical music. The groundbreaking artist and revered author of six books, was the recipient of the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award in recognition of his commitment as an artist and advocate to art’s power to heal India’s deep social divisions, the Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration and Professor V. Aravindakshan Memorial Award. He will be accompanied by his long-time co-artists RK Shriram Kumar on violin, K Arun Prakash on mridangam, and N Guru Prasad on ghatam.
