Over her 40-year career Natalie Merchant has attained a place among America’s most respected recording artists. She has earned a reputation for being a songwriter of quality and a captivating stage performer. Merchant began her musical career as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the pop music band 10,000 Maniacs has toured extensively and collaborated with a diverse array of artists on stage and in the studio including: Billy Bragg, Philip Glass, David Byrne, The Chieftains, Tracy Chapman, Mavis Staples and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. In April, Nonesuch Records will release Keep Your Courage, Merchant’s ninth solo studio album and first of new material since her self-titled release in 2014.
