“We are delighted to have the band join us for PIFA 2018 as we celebrate talented artists from around the world,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “With a little help from skilled guests Ariacne Trujillo Durand and Yusa Lopez Bridon, La NOCHE is guaranteed to keep your feet moving all night long!”

Ariacne Trujillo Durand is a Grammy-nominated singer and musician who has worked with legendary names such as Paul Simon, Paquito D’ Rivera, Wynton Marsalis, Danny Rivera, Jonny Pacheco, John Scofield, Brian Lynch, Esperanza Spalding, and Savion Glover. Born in Havana, Cuba, Durand began her career as a child prodigy concert pianist before eventually graduating from Cuba’s competitive ISA conservatory while working as a singer and dancer at the legendary Cabaret Tropicana.

Yusa Lopez Bridon started playing guitar at the age of six, eventually taking up the Cuban tres guitar, piano, and bass. Bridon attended the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory, exchanging musical ideas with contemporaries such as Roberto Carcasses, who has arranged many of her songs. Bridon was also part of the improvising female quintet Quasi-Jazz at the crucible of Cuban music. Now Bridon is admired and known as a highly talented arranger, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, tres bass, and piano/keyboards in various jazz, rock, and acoustic duo combinations.
