Pictured here - World-renowned artist Eric Fischl visited the Kimmel Center’s SEI Innovation Studio Monday afternoon as part of University of the Arts’ Fine Arts Visiting Artist Lecture series. Fischl walked students through the decision-making process of creating a work, calling it a “circuitous route full of associations”.
He spoke about art in social constructs, questioned whether art has a place in politics, and told students “ultimately artists are witnesses,” that it was the best and most difficult thing for them to do.
