KIMMEL CULTURAL CAMPUS PRESENTS

HILARIOUS IRISH SKETCH COMEDY TRIO

FOIL ARMS & HOG

MARCH 18, 2022

“F*cking awesome, so good.”

- KEEGAN-MICHAEL KEY

“Quite simply, a sensation.”

- EDINBURGH FESTIVALS MAGAZINE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (January 13, 2022) – The Kimmel Cultural Campus, in association with AEG, presents Foil Arms & Hogin the Kimmel Cultural Campus’ Perelman Theater on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. Foil Arms & Hog is an Irish sketch comedy group comprised of Sean Finegan, Conor McKenna, and Sean Flanagan. The group's name evolved from nicknames each of the members had for each other: Foil (Sean Finegan) being the comedy foil, Arms (Conor McKenna) was 'All arms and Legs', and Hog (Sean Flanagan) because he ostensibly hogged the limelight.

The group is best known for their online sketches, but it’s their live show that they are most proud of. After performances at The Edinburgh Fringe, the world’s largest arts festival, Foil Hog & Arms has achieved critical acclaim. While they do not have a specific genre, they produce sketches that are often observational and occasionally topical. Popular sketches released to YouTube include “When Irish People Can't Speak Irish,” “An Englishman Plays Risk,” “WTF is Brexit,” and “How to Speak Dublin.”

“Foil Arms & Hog prove laughter is not defined by geographic boundaries or cultural differences,” said Frances Egler, senior director of programming and presentations on the Kimmel Cultural Campus. “Bringing a wide range of comedic talents to Philadelphia this season, this show is part of a lineup of artists representing different walks of life, from Fran Lebowitz to Hannah Gadsby, Hasan Minhaj to Lewis Black.”

Foil Arms & Hog has world-wide appeal, with live shows primarily in Ireland and the United Kingdom, but also in the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and several runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Deeply committed to the health and safety of guests, artists, and staff and proudly certified by GBAC, the gold standard for infection prevention programs, the Kimmel Cultural Campus is requiring masks to be worn at all times for guests attending on-Campus events, as well as proof of vaccination for those over 5. Guests under 5 will be required to show a negative PCR test result or negative rapid test. Additional details below.
