THE WORLD’S GREATEST PINK FLOYD TRIBUTE BAND BRIT FLOYD BRINGS THE ECLIPSE WORLD TOUR TO THE KIMMEL CENTER CULTURAL CAMPUS APRIL 6, 2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, February 22, 2018) –– Brit Floyd, the “World’s Greatest Pink Floyd Tribute Show” returns to the Academy of Music for their Eclipse World Tour 2018, celebrating 45 years since the release of the iconic album Dark Side of the Moon. OnFriday, April 6, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. the global phenomenon hits the stage, performing songs from Pink Floyd’s best-loved and best-selling albums, The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, The Division Bell, and more.

“Brit Floyd pays tribute to one of the most influential rock bands in history with incredible ease,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “Mastering incredible synergy between visuals and music, Brit Floyd puts on a show that will have the audience feeling like they are actually watching Pink Floyd live.”

Formed in 2011 in Liverpool, England, Brit Floyd was the brainchild of Damian Darlington, the former musical director, guitarist, and singer of The Australian Pink Floyd Show. Darlington established a new and improved Pink Floyd tribute band that has welcomed various members over the years. Brit Floyd’s live shows emulate and recreate the sounds and musical components of original Pink Floyd live shows.  Creators and band members pay close attention to details pertaining to all aspects of the show, from start to finish, to make sure the experience is as authentic and emotional as Pink Floyd shows used to be.

Other featured upcoming performances at the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus include: Something Rotten! (February 27-March 4, 2018, Academy of Music), Celtic Woman: Homecoming Tour (March 22, 2018, Academy of Music) Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and Chick Corea (April 8, 2018, Academy of Music), John Prine (April 15, 2018, Merriam Theater), and Brandi Carlile (May 18, 2018, Merriam Theater)
