The Kimmel Cultural Campus, once again, joins a variety of participating organizations and buildings across the city to turn the Philadelphia skyline pink through the month of October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is the 19th year of the annual “Lights For The Fight” campaign, supported by CBS3 Philly and the Susan G. Komen organization. On the Kimmel Cultural Campus, the lights inside our Hamilton Rooftop Garden will be seen illuminating the glass dome of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts at 300 S. Broad Street.
“Lights for the Fight” is a salute to the thousands of brave individuals in our region who have survived breast cancer, and a reminder to all to stay vigilant in this fight. The power of this campaign is vital as the Susan G. Komen organization works to reduce the number of late-stage breast cancer diagnoses in our Philadelphia community, while continuing to provide education, resources, access to services, survivor support, and research funding that have grown the size of the local survivor family over the past 20 years.
Stroll along the Kimmel Cultural Campus and see the pink lights through the end of October. And a fun fact for all the arts lovers – the official color used in the campaign is called “Broadway Pink!”
