FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, October 25, 2017) ––  On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, Project 440 and the Kimmel Center will host a special college fair for musicians held at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts’ Commonwealth Plaza from 9:15am – 3:45pm. There will be representatives from over 30 national and regional institutions providing high school students with information and college prep workshops that will include: writing college essays, life skills, interviews, resumes and recommendation letters, auditions for students who plan to continue their studies in music, and Financial Aid information.

Formed in 2007, Project 440 (P440) is a nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia that engages, educates and inspires young musicians, providing them with the career and life skills they need to develop into tomorrow's civic-minded, entrepreneurial leaders.

Executive Director and Co-Founder of P440 Joseph Conyers, understands the importance of this partnership with the Kimmel Center: “We are so pleased to be partnering with the Kimmel Center, an epicenter of arts and culture in Philadelphia, for the first Project 440 College Fair,” states Conyers who also serves as Assistant Principal Bass in The Philadelphia Orchestra and as the music director for the School District of Philadelphia’s ‘All City High School Orchestra.’

Kimmel Center President & CEO Anne Ewers also shares this notion: “The Kimmel Center is happy to host Project 440’s upcoming College Fair for young musicians in Philadelphia.  As home to many of the great Philadelphia arts organizations, we are committed to building the audiences and artists of the future.  The event will allow talented young people to explore options for college and beyond, opening new doors for a successful future.”
